Product Description
Pecan halves are shelled pecans prepared from whole, sound, mature nuts, of any variety, harvested from cultivated pecan trees of the genus Carya. Whole nuts are cleaned, shelled, sized and graded to meet and exceed the United States Department of Agriculture's Standards for Grades of Shelled Pecans.
Product Definition
U.S. standards for "halves" or "half-kernel" mean one of the separated halves of an entire pecan kernel with a maximum 1/8 of its volume broken or rubbed off. Blain Farms strict requirements for halves is that only one tip of each half shall be broken within the 1/8 volume. If both tips are broken, even within the 1/8 volume, it will not be considered a half.
Applications
May be eaten as a food, snack, or used as an ingredient.

Pecan pieces are shelled pecans prepared from whole, sound, mature nuts, of any variety, harvested from cultivated pecan trees of the genus Carya. Whole nuts are cleaned, shelled, sized and graded to meet and exceed the United States Department of Agriculture's Standards for Grades of Shelled Pecans.
Product Definition
Pieces are sized through screens with round holes ranging in diameter from 3/16" to 9/16". Blain Farms pieces are fairly uniform in size consistent with the size classification.
Applications
May be eaten as a food, snack, or used as an ingredient.

Natural In-Shell Pecans and Natural Pre-Cracked Pecans
Product Description
In-Shell pecans are whole, sound, mature, nuts, of any variety, harvested from cultivated pecan trees of the genus Carya. Whole nuts are cleaned, sized and graded to meet and exceed the United States Department of Agriculture's Standards for US#1 Grade of Pecans. "Pre-cracked pecans" are in-shell pecans, which have been run through cracking equipment for ease of shelling by the consumer.
Product Definition
U.S. standards for in-shell pecans require that pecans be free from loose extraneous material. The pecan shell must be fairly uniform in color and free from damage by any cause.
Applications
May be eaten as a food, snack, or used as an ingredient.
